My journey began when I discovered that an interest could be transformed into something others could enjoy or appreciate. My "maker's mark" is a butterfly, symbolizing the metamorphosis of an idea into something beautiful...no matter the trials you've faced.
Just the simple things, like selling tomatoes door-to-door as a child from our family garden demonstrated the value of offering fresh, homegrown merchandise. I create pottery on the wheel or hand build each work from scratch. Recently I took clay to a third medium—slipcasting! This allows me to make forms with liquid slip as needed.
My photography and quilting also open up a field of possibilities!
